About this helper

This character counter measures text length directly in your browser. It counts visible characters, characters without whitespace, words, lines, paragraphs, and UTF-8 bytes so you can fit profile bios, messages, ad copy, forms, and data fields without uploading the text.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The count runs in your browser and the site does not receive the text you type.

What is the difference between characters and bytes?

Characters are what people see in the text. UTF-8 bytes are how much storage the text may need, and some characters use more than one byte.

Are spaces included?

Yes. The main character count includes spaces, and the tool also shows a separate count without spaces.
